Meet the Team

Our team is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Co-op, the products we carry, and our community. Each person brings unique skills and enthusiasm to the table that set us apart from your average grocery store staff. Chat with us when you visit – we’re excited to meet you!

Brenna Grogg

Meet Brenna! Brenna has a passion for using food and plants as medicine, making her a perfect fit for the co-op team. Her favorite thing about working here is connecting with people and helping them find what they need. Brenna’s favorite products in the co-op are the Dandelion Dark Roast Herbal Coffee and anything from our produce or bulk foods section. In her spare time, you’ll find Brenna connecting with nature. She loves hiking with her dog, meditating, and reading.

Dana Hantel

Meet Dana! Dana loves solving complex problems and improving systems, especially when it results in reimagined business and community conditions that make it easier for people to stay healthy and lead fulfilling lives. She loves the co-op’s long history of creativity, cooperation, and concern for humanity and the planet. Her favorite things we sell at the co-op are Stone Tower Joe light roast coffee and Venerable Bean Bakery’s peanut butter pie. In her free time, Dana can be found relaxing with her dog and a book.

Alex Weidman

Meet our Bulk Foods Manager, Alex! Alex’s favorite thing about working here is getting to order from local farmers that are doing cool and unique things. His favorite item you can find at the co-op is “Let’s Do Organic” heavy coconut cream because it’s a great replacement for heavy cream if you’re avoiding dairy. In his free time, Alex loves to read and run – both of those things set him up to have a great day.

Heather Starkey

Meet Heather! Heather loves working with our amazing staff and customers, and she’s passionate about helping others, being creative, and eating well to be well. Her favorite thing the co-op sells is Hu chocolate. In her free time, you can find Heather traveling with her husband, working on creative projects, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Nikki Vilasuso

Meet Nikki! Nikki has been with us at the Co-Op for three years and handles ordering our local meat, eggs, and bulk coffee beans. Her favorite thing about working at the Co-Op is the pleasant environment and the interactions she has with our customers, farmers, other small businesses, and coworkers. Nikki loves the farm fresh eggs, local veggies, and local bulk flour and coffee beans. When she’s not working at the Co-Op or The Blue Moose Café, you’ll find her enjoying the outdoors with her dog, doing yoga, or playing with her hula hoops.

Rachel Tripp

Meet our Produce Manager, Rachel! Here at the co-op, you’ll find Rachel getting to know our local farmers and making connections with our customers. Her favorite items you can find in the co-op are locally grown Full Circle Fungi mushrooms and local organic whole wheat pastry flour. To Rachel, West Virginia’s nature is the perfect playground – she loves hiking, backpacking, caving, and foraging for wild edibles. In her spare time, you can find Rachel hiking with her husband and dog, learning more about living off of her property, and spending time in the barn with her horses

Tia Johnson

Meet Tia! Tia’s been working at the co-op since 2013. When she began working at the co-op, she discovered her passion for herbalism. Tia loves our bulk herb section, where you’ll find quality herbs and spices not usually found in a corporate grocery store. Her favorite thing about working at the co-op is being able to be consistently engaged with the community on a personal level and being able to provide customers with quality products and valuable information they wouldn’t necessarily obtain from a corporate grocery store. In her free time, Tia likes to create wire wrapped jewelry and herbal products for her Etsy shop. She also loves photography and spending time identifying plants in the wild.
